Year 6 Science Fair Assignment that speaks volumes; premium potting mix vs Budget mix! The aim of the assignment was to find out if using different types of growing media would have an impact on plant growth; same number of Snow Pea seeds were planted at the same time, same area, watering, exact care and look at the results. I knew the Searles Premium potting mix would do well but I never expected such a difference, we often tell our customers that the better the potting mix, the better the results but the budget mix is just so shameful and so embarrassing, it should not even be sold as it is a detriment to plants. Loved watching the girls work on this assignment, learning words like germination, salinity, hydrophobic and speaking so confidently at school because they totally understood their subject matter. You can imagine how excited I was when Valentina told me her topic, well done Valentina and Cailin! #pottingmix @searlesgardening #sciencefairproject #wesellpottingmix They also used beach sand as an extreme growing media and it fared better than the budget mix! ... Love these cloches so much that I have used them as pendants in the shop, in our old house and now in our new place above the dining table. Love the softness it brings and also the shadows and light it casts, of course you can also use them in the veggie patch to keep wallabies, possums, rabbits away from your seedlings. We have 2 sizes available 30cm for $68 and 50 for $81. @heaveninearthau #bamboocloche #bambooclochelights ... See MoreSee Less

@mormors.merimbula’s giant Monstera used to sit on their bench top next to the coffee machine two and a half years ago (swipe to see her as an infant) and look at her now! She has grown just like the coffee shop. Notice how the leaves have more than tripled in size as the plant has grown? We have it growing on two stainless steel cables up the wall for support in a bigger pot in premium potting mix, tucked just away from the hot western sun #mormorsmerimbula #farsouthcoastnsw #southcoastnsw #monsteramonday #merimbula #tathra #bega #begavalley @ Merimbula, New South Wales ...
